Cliff Calderwood

Cliff Calderwood I moved to Massachusetts in 1981 for work and never left. I’ve always had a thirst for travel and toured Canada in 1976 and USA in 1980. Once I settled in New England and the Boston area I begun to explore and found a magnificent treasure trove of place. Within a few hours there are wonderful sandy beaches and rocky coastlines - there are gorgeous lakes and mountains to hike and climb. And of course there is the New England autumn – my favorite season. I also enjoy the vibrant cities with Boston and the history overshadowing everything about the region. But most I enjoy the peoples. Diverse and fiercely independent with different perspectives they make New England special.

I enjoy exploring and finding new villages and writing about what I find to share with others. I will never tire of the area for I will never live enough years to experience everything about the region. But alas, my heart does belong to one place and that is Cape Cod. My wife and I lived there for two years and it broke our hearts to leave but we have a lamp “shining in a window“ in one of the towns and will return to walk the beaches and shores that Thoreau and Beston walked and marvel at the first encounter the ocean has with New England.

Cliff Calderwood is owner, writer, and publisher for three New England websites. To say he's a busy man would be an understatement. We are grateful for having met Cliff and fortunate he has taken an interest in our efforts here at All Things New England as a contributing writer.
