I first learned about New Moon from my daughter's doctor. The New Moon Girls magazine and their online presence is a breath of fresh air in a world being choked by advertising and marketing gurus.   New Moon gets back to the basics of adolescence and encourages girls to become independent, confident free thinkers. New Moon deals with real issues facing our teens and pre-teens today while making available positive outlets and safe ways to connect with other girls their age. The whole concept is as wonderful as it is simple...and I love it!

Hopefully this project will grow and succeed...and so I'm playing my part to make that happen by passing this information on to you.... check them out! ... and Learn More.

SAD: Singles Awareness Day, February 15th

When I first heard the phrase Single Awareness Day, I couldn't stop laughing, however it's really not that funny considering I am single and all. Contrary to what I originally thought, Singles Awareness Day, aka SAD, is not just a  spoof on Valentine's Day, instead it's a day for individuals to celebrate their single status and to remind couples that one does not need to be in a romantic relationship to celebrate and enjoy life. Singles Awareness Day, also referred to as Singles Appreciation Day, is celebrated the day after Valentine's Day on February 15th. Proper greeting for the occasion is " Happy SAD ! " I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I have this strange urge to change into my best worn out pair of pajamas...the ones with all the holes and stains... tear open a box of chocolates, eat a gallon of ice cream...and watch Lifetime movies all day without ever brushing my teeth. Better yet, in light of Valentine's Day, I've decided to take a more proactive approach in support of Singles Awareness Day. I put together a soundtrack especially for the SAD occasion. So pop the champagne and bust a move. This is a great listen.
