RENOWNED CHILDREN’S BOOK AUTHOR/ILLUSTRATOR CHRIS VAN DUSEN TO PRESENT NEW PICTURE BOOK AT NORTHSHIRE

Bring the kids to the Northshore Bookstore in Manchester, VT to hear Chris Van Dusen present his new book, The Circus Ship.

Northshire Bookstore, Manchester Center, VT: Fun for kids! Chris Van Dusen, illustrator of the Mercy Watson books by Kate DiCamillo, will present his delightful new picture book The Circus Ship on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Northshire Bookstore. The event is suitable for children ages four to eight. 

Based on a true story of a circus ship running aground off the coast of Maine in the early 1800s, The Circus Ship is a hugely entertaining tale of what happens after the animals on the ship swim to shore and try to blend in with the townspeople. It speaks to the bonds of community, while using hidden pictures to draw children into the story. Chris Van Dusen also wrote and illustrated If I Built a Car, which was an E.B. White Read Aloud Award Winner, and Down to the Sea with Mr. Magee. A resident of Maine, he is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
