Music Festivals In New England

electric guitar playerCheck out our growing list of music festivals in New England! Among the oldest and most well known-- the Newport Jazz Festival (est. 1954) and the Newport Folk Festival (est. 1959), both co-founded by legendary jazz producer, George Wein. The Rhythm and Roots Festival is quite spectacular, my first time was about 6 years ago, and I've been back every year since. I love that there are lots of kids activities too. Face painting, music lessons, movies, dance and parades.....
And the grownups just get to dance and eat great food! LOVE IT!

My wife and I were vacationing in Portland, Maine last summer when we heard about the Saltwater Celtic Music Festival at a local Irish pub in Portland. We were able to attend the first day and were shocked that we hadn't heard of this festival(my wife's family is Irish). The tickets were well worth price, if you last the 8 hours of non-stop music. It was held at Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick. The setting was Maine's pristine coastline and we definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Maine in July...we will surely be back this summer, this time with the whole family!
