Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project

Pretty Things Hello, friends and readers and people who drink our beer and people who have never ever heard of us! And maybe even hello to people who have heard of us but who do not drink our beer (we like you, too). We are Pretty Things, a rag-tag-team of beer-makers and general movers-and-shakers based in Massachusetts. Some years ago, Dann Paquette (a long-time brewer) and Martha Holley-Paquette (a long-time scientist) met and fell in love (aww!), moved to real England where Martha was from (boo!), moved back to Boston (yay!) and decided to work on a brewing project, borrowing space in other people’s breweries because they didn’t have the money to open up their own big-fancy place. People drank their beer and gave them money for it and so Dann and Martha made more beer, and then more, and more! It turned into a great crazy make-beer-sell-beer cycle that Dann and Martha now call their careers. Along the way, their longtime friend Jim Barnes (you can call him Bocky) got to make a career repping their goods in New York City, and ever-incredibly, I (you can call me Anya) got to make a career telling people about these same delicious goods right here in Massachusetts. Our life and our beer are 100% fun and we throw as many parties as possible in a thinly-veiled excuse for me to order multi-colored balloons to decorate bars with.

The winery itself is located in  a 5,000 square foot mortise and tenon timber framed barn. There's not a nail in the place! The Oak wood used to reconstruct the barn was cut from their own  property as they cleared the fields to make way for the vineyard. Currently, the vineyard produces six varieties of wines all of which are made from French hybrid grapes that are locally grown in their fields. Selections include:
