Freedom Boat Club, the world’s largest membership-based boat club started in Sarasota, FL in 1989 and has now grown to over 5000 members in 61 U.S. locations, 10 of which are located in New England. FBC is known as “the intelligent alternative to boat ownership”. Our goal at Freedom Boat Club is to provide our members with the most convenient and cost-effective way to enjoy the boater’s lifestyle without having to deal with the hassles and headaches of boat ownership. My father, Mike, and I are the owners of the Portsmouth, NH and Newburyport, MA franchise locations. As the club concept has become so popular, we are also in the planning stages of opening a club on Lake Winnipesauke for the 2013 season. Our members are entitled to unlimited use of an entire fleet of fishing and recreational boats, all for a fraction of what it would cost to own just one. Our current fleet is made up of boats ranging from a 22’ center console all the way up to a 30’ cruiser and everything in between. Our members really enjoy having access to a variety of boats, because this allows them to pick a specific boat to fit each of their outings needs. One day they may want to take our 25’ Bluefin offshore to go cod fishing, the next day they could take our 27’ Cobalt bow rider to the beach with their family, and the third day they may take our Monterey Cruiser out to the Isles of Shoals for an overnight stay. This is all possible as a member of Freedom Boat Club.
Our members also receive reciprocal rights to all of the other FBC locations, so they can have access to a boat when they are traveling or just looking to explore new waters. This is a huge benefit for our New England members, because this allows them to try out a few different harbors each summer and to continue boating at our southern locations during the winter months.
The best part of Freedom Boat Club is that our staff handles all of the cleaning, maintenance, storage, and insurance of our fleet so that our members do not have to. Our members simply just show up to a boat that has been prepared for their trip, spend their day on the water with their family and friends, and when they are done they can just pull up to the dock, hand us the keys and be on their way. Our staff will clean the boat and put it away so that it is ready for the next members use. This is where the convenience of the club really shines.
If you have always dreamed of having a boat and spending time out on the water, but did not want to take on the work and expense of boat ownership; spend a few minutes and watch our brief video at http://freedomboatclub.com/how_it_works/ to find out just how easy boating can be. Your boat is waiting….
