Owned by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, founders of the Atlantic Paranormal Society and stars of the hit reality television show “Ghost Hunters”, the Spalding Inn has become a favorite getaway and unique place to stay for vacationers and thrill-seekers alike.

The Inn was built in the 1860’s and was originally named the “Cherry Hill House”.  The building has changed ownership a few times over the years, but the spiritual inhabitants of the building have remained.  Employees and guests have been reporting paranormal activity on the property for the past 80 years, which has seemed to continue since coming into Jay and Grant’s hands.

It is believed that any type of construction to a building, will help to awake or stir up ghostly activity and this seemed to hold true when the Hawes and Wilson families began renovations on the Inn.  Since purchasing the property, everything from shadowy figures, unexplained noises and whispers, and full body apparitions have been experienced.  The Inn was even featured on an episode of their show.  The eery hot spots seem to center around the hallways of the main living quarters, the “Carriage House”, the kitchen, and Room #38.  Since opening, a guest book has been kept where inn-goers can log their names and where they’re from, and add any experiences they may have had during their stay.

The Spalding Inn also periodically offers paranormal weekend packages, “TAPS Boot Camp” (taught by Britt Griffith and Syd Shultz), which includes extensive teachings on subjects involved in paranormal investigating, and an all night investigation of the property.
